Matthew 3:13-17- A Community of Persons

Christ is Baptized!

At the World Meeting of Families, during the Papal visit to Philadelphia in 2015, a little boy asked Pope Francis what “God did with all His time before He created the world.” The Holy Father paused for a few seconds and then responded “He loved.” It is through this feast, the Holy Theophany, where God is manifested to the world as a truly loving God.

God is not a monad but a community of persons, One God in three Divine Persons- Tri-unity- Trinity. Our God is a God of love, and love, which is always about the other, could not be possible for a God who is a monad. The truth is so much more amazing and incredible. God is fire, movement and dance within a community of Love, true Love, the Love of the Father before the beginning, the Only Begotten Son and the Lifegiving Holy Spirit.

Today we witness this amazing unveiling of the Inner Life of the Trinity when we see the Son, hear the Father and witness the Holy Spirit at Jesus’ baptism. Let us, brothers and sisters allow God’s eternal communion of love draw us into deeper, more honest and authentic relationships with our own neighbors who have been created in the Image and Likeness of this very Trinity of Persons.
