Matthew 10:23–31
Glory be to Jesus Christ!
Have you ever expressed to another—whether it be spouse, child, parent, friend, or stranger—that you love the Lord, and that you are coming to know deeper, day by day, how much the Lord loves you? That there is only one true God and no other? That salvation is through Jesus Christ and no other? Perhaps we have expressed this to someone who is very close to us. But to others, we probably have been shy, perhaps even concerned what others may think of us, what others may say about us.
Here are (and hear) the words of Jesus: “Do not be afraid.” We find in the Gospels that our Lord is constantly telling His disciples in a variety of ways not to be afraid. Today, let us not to be afraid of calumny or detraction (a misrepresentation intended to harm another’s reputation) when sharing the Good News. Hidden things will be made known in the end. The light will reveal what is in darkness. Christ is that Light!
We, like the disciples, must also be clear in our words when sharing the Good News, without ambiguity, without being influenced by fear of consequences. The Lord carried those in the past who have witnessed to their faith, to our faith, in difficult times, like Patriarch Josyf Slipyj and blessed Josaphata, and He will see us through.
Today, hear and trust in His Word!
